The Profometer 5 is a powerful digital instrument for locating reinforcing bar (rebar) or welded reinforcing mesh in concrete, measuring the depth of the concrete cover over the rebar, as well as determining the diameter and direction of the rebar. The Profometer 5 not only acts as a rebar locator, but also a rebar avoider, to avoid cutting through prestressed tendons, rebar, anchor bolts, and metal conduit during concrete coring operations. The instrument is largely insensitive to external interferences due to the pulse induction measurement method. The SCANLOG model uses a SCANCAR to provide on-screen visualization of the reinforcing rods and prints a grayscale of the concrete cover. Instrument comes with a carrying case and instructions for use.
